(You should have seen what they wore for the race itself!)
Racers partnered up with frenemies and tried their best to capture the team title.
Fil and I teamed up and formed the wonder twin twosome of Dos Equis.
(He once ran a 10K at a 5K...and won)
Other notable twosomes included Glenn and Don as the Geezers, multi-winner of this race, father and daughter, Team Molloy (Kara and Richard), and some speedsters from around the corner at UML.
The team results are age and gender graded, so there's a time bonus for those over 25 and not of the male persuasion. Unfortunately, Fil is only one of those.
We gave it our all, but in the end Team Dos Equis came up a few points short of placing and winning some Guinness beer (oh the irony).
We have since challenged the 3rd place team, The Geezers, to a rematch in a dark alley. We're still waiting for a response.
In other race news, Cody beat his previous PR of 17:25 into submission with an outstanding 17:07 finish tonight. The kid is only getting faster!
I am still hanging around 18 once again, but GLRR track should help me get back down below 18 before the series is out in two weeks.
Team Dos Equis will be touring this summer. Our next show will be at the Moose on Loose 10 Miler (relay race) at the Mine Falls course. We're returning to defend our relay team title from last year where we were under the witty guise of Booze on the Looze.
9 mile tempo run planned for tomorrow. Track on Thursday.
I love when age grading puts me ahead of you. Yay beer, yay age grading!
